The income tax calculator covers the United States (all 50 states + DC with filing status), the United Kingdom, Canada, Türkiye, and a custom flat-rate mode for other countries. US estimates split federal brackets from an approximate state rate.
How US state taxes work here
States like Texas and Florida have no state income tax on wages; California and New York use higher effective rates. We apply a planning rate per state on taxable income after the federal standard deduction—local city taxes and credits are not included.

Does the US calculator include federal and state tax?
Yes. Pick a state and filing status (single, married filing jointly, or head of household). Federal tax uses simplified IRS-style brackets; state tax uses an approximate effective rate for that state.
Why doesn’t the salary calculator show states?
The salary tool uses one flat tax % for speed. For US state + federal breakdown, use the Income Tax Calculator and link results to salary planning.
Are FICA or National Insurance included?
No. Payroll taxes (US FICA, UK NI, etc.) are excluded so you can see income tax components separately.
